More than twenty years ago, Dr. Timothy McPherson opened a primary care clinic in Kennett, Missouri, with a simple conviction: people in small towns deserve the same quality of medicine as people in big cities.
That one clinic grew into a network covering the Missouri Bootheel — then Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas, the St. Louis metro, the Illinois Metro East, and North-Central Missouri. Along the way, independent physicians like Dr. Jonathan Manzer, Dr. Richard Muckerman, and Dr. Roger Sacry joined the family, keeping their own names on the door and their own way of caring for patients.
Today American Medical is still owned and led by physicians. Our clinics share one electronic health record, one patient portal, and one standard of care — so your records follow you from your hometown clinic to any specialist in the network.
